My name is Robert Finch. Most family members call me Bobby. Friends call me Bob.
I live on a farm with my wife and daughter in Dunnville, a part of Haldimand County, where the Grand River flows into Lake Erie. But I was born in Burlington, Ontario in the late 1970s and grew up on the Beach Strip in neighbouring Hamilton. So, while I live near Lake Erie now I grew up literally on the shores of Lake Ontario.
In 2000, I graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and have worked in marketing and sales ever since. I also have a minor in Geography (which is actually my favourite subject).
I have a lot of interests and hobbies. Genealogy and local history are two of them that keep me busy the most. Others include the Titanic, 80s nostalgia, classic old school wrestling, and old time radio.
I’m a proud Canadian and a staunch monarchist. You may hear me on the radio, see me on TV, or read me in the news talking about the Canadian monarchy.
Finally, I’m also a big football fan. My brother, sister, and I have been season ticket holders of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats since 1995. After all these years, attending Ti-Cat games is something we still do together. I also run a blog called Canadian Football History, so check that out, too.
That’s me a nutshell. I hope you enjoy my website.
